Discover Scuba Diving

Most people are enchanted by what they see when they discover scuba diving. This introduction is an experience for the adventurous type willing to give it a go.

Discover Scuba Diving is a one day introduction to diving. The instructor provides a brief orientation before taking you diving in a confined water area. There you will learn to use scuba equipment and get familiar with the underwater environment. The instructor will then take you for your second adventure dive on an underwater tour of the reef.

It’s an unforgettable day!! The bonus is that once the DSD experience is complete the second dive is credited toward the Scuba Diver and/or Open Water courses.

Scuba Diver

The PADI Scuba Diver program is a quick two day pre-entry level certification. It is perfect for you if you want to learn how to dive, but are short on time.

The Scuba Diver certification allows you to dive at any worldwide destination under the supervision of a PADI Professional, and is valid for a lifetime.

The Scuba Diver certification can be upgraded to Open Water at any time in as little as two days.

Open Water Diver

PADI Open Water Diver is the most popular diver program in the world - and your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure. You’ll learn about scuba fundamentals, equipment and techniques.

Plus, practice skills by diving in a pool; and experience several open water dives with an instructor. The entire course lasts 3 to 4 days, depending on the number of participants. The course is performance based, not time based – meaning you get the time you need to feel comfortable every step of the way.

Virtually anyone with a reasonable level of health and fitness can learn to scuba dive. Participants as young as 10 years old may complete the PADI Open Water Diver program and receive a junior credential; this may be upgraded to full certification once the participant reaches 15 years of age.

Advanced Open Water Diver

Emergency First Response

The Emergency First Response program trains you in both Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (first aid), and meets an important prerequisite for the Rescue Diver program.

Divemaster

This is the course where you will become a professional in the diving industry. You learn the highest level of recreational diving theory and will be able to take certified divers for a safe and fun dive. You will also learn how to assist Instructors with the teaching process during any PADI courses. As a newly certified PADI professional, this course opens the door to you to work in the most exotic places and earn some money!!!

The PADI Divemaster course consists of three modules: Knowledge Development, Water Skills and Stamina, and Practical Application. The Schedule will depend on your needs, the instructor's needs and course requirements.

Twelve topics make up the Knowledge Development module. You'll cover these 12 topics through independent study, projects, and discussions. Your independent study will include reading the PADI Divemaster Manual and completing the Knowledge Reviews, plus use of materials such as the PADI Divemaster Video or the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving.

Your instructor will hold sessions to provide more information, to check your progress, hold discussions and give you an opportunity to discuss and ask questions about what you're learning. This ranges from classroom sessions, to meetings at the diving center and during dive excursions.

After you complete your studies, you'll take the PADI Divemaster Exams, which are written tests on the topics you studied. The Water Skills and Stamina module has two goals - to develop and evaluate your overall water skills and stamina, and to improve upon your existing scuba skills. You'll complete several timed swims and other exercises in confined water, and you'll refine your basic scuba skills so that you can role model for beginning divers learning those skills. You'll also refresh and refine your rescue skills.

Why not give yourself the opportunity to learn about our ocean and its creatures in greater depth by taking a marine biology course right here on Koh Lanta – with the Andaman Sea right at our fingertips, its the ideal way to learn!

Take advantage of the plentiful marine life and stunning diversity to be found underwater, and dive in for some up close and personal learning experiences. All our courses include both classroom and open water dive components, so you will literally get the best of both worlds. Take an overview of life in tropical waters with our Marine Biology of Tropical Coral Reefs, or get intimate with some interesting specialties including Sharks and Rays, Hard or Soft Corals, and Tropical Reef Fish. Each course offers you an in-depth study of the biology and ecology of the chosen organism, and you will be diving at dive sites specially chosen to maximize your chances of an encounter.

Equipment rental, hotel transfer, insurance, and breakfast and lunch on the boat are included in the course fees. Students will also be offered use of an underwater slate to enhance and facilitate your underwater learning.
