Blue Planet Divers are a 5-Star Instructor Development Centre based in Koh Lanta, Thailand. We have a large and spacious dive centre and dive boats with experienced staff. High Rated PADI IDC Center

Scuba instructor in koh lanta, we offer more than an IDC. In order to ensure that you pass your exams successfully, we will prepare your knowledge and experience before starting your IDC. First, 2 weeks before the start of the course you will be able to assist our Divemasters and Instructors during their courses. Secondly, we will give you a few exams to make you untouchable in your IDC theory.

We offer more than a simple IDC!

After these 2 weeks, you will get another 2 days of preparation with the Course Director. He will refresh your dive theory and improve your pool and rescue skill demonstrations whilst ensuring you are prepared to go into the PADI IDC with the confidence that your knowledge and skills are at the required level to pass the IE.

Please note that we are providing always more than necessary, because our main concern is our student’s success in any courses.

Course Prerequisites

To take this course, you must:

 Be fit for diving - see medical certificat

  Be at least a 18 years old Rescue Diver

  Have 100 logged dives appearing in your logbook

 Have a EFR valid (less than 24 months)

  Valid DM certification

In case you need to refresh/complete your EFR, you can take the Emegency First Response Course class with us.

Our Course Director

Scuba instructor in koh lanta, we are extremely lucky to have Camille Lemmens, a Platinum Course Director (CD), on our team. Originally from the Netherlands, Camille is in a position to offer courses in English, German and Dutch and French too!

Camille is a highly experienced CD (he has run over 80 IDC’s and taught over 800 Instructor candidates) who has been teaching in Thailand for over 11 years. In 2009, Camille was awarded the PADI Instructor Development Award in recognition of his significant contribution to the growth and development of diving. In the 2010, he was also awarded the title of ‘Platinum Course Director’ for the fourth consecutive year. There are over 1,000 Course Directors worldwide, but only 49 Platinum Course Directors.

Personnal targets with your mentor

Camille focuses on personalized training and generally works in small groups and conducts all parts of the IDC training himself. He ensures he is available at all times throughout the IDC to give his candidates lots of personal and individual attention.

As you just finished your succesfull IDC course and decided to stay a bit longer, we will offer you a premium freelancer job.. You will able as well to train with our instructor during their course and under their supervision so you would feel more confident on your own later course.

Staying in Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta is a 30km long beautiful island in the Andaman Sea. Although tourist life is mostly located in the north-west of the island, there are resorts all the way down to the west coast.

Beaches are stunning and costs of living on the island are relatively cheap. We have excat;y what you need for a short stay atOur Dive House

We also recommend that you rent if you decide to explore Koh Lanta during your free time. This is essential if you want to travel around the island and get to work on time! It is also the cheapest method of transportation here. Prices for renting a manual motorbike start at around 200 THB per day and 2000 baht per month, but expect to pay up a bit more for an automatic one.

Be careful though! Motorbikes can be dangerous in Thailand so try to get a full face helmet with the renting shop.

Eating out here is really cheap and you will quickly realize that you will do that for most of the nights. You can order a good Thai meal for 60 baht, while Western food will start at about 150 baht. Many of our Divemaster trainees share houses with kitchen and cook their own food. It is very fun to stay and exchange cultures with new friends who have the exact same passion. However, remember that we are providing breakfast, snacks and lunch on our daily trips.

If you decide to stay a bit longer and in order to stay for a long term on the island, you’ll need to arrange your Visa outside of Thailand. We really encourage you to apply for a 2+2 Visa which will allow you to stay here for 6 months (2 months upon arrival, extendable of 1 month in Krabi immigration, then another 2 months after a visa run with 1 month extendable again). Applying for visas before you come will save you a lot of time, money and energy. It is simple to apply for this kind of Visa from your country. Most of Thai Embassies deliver visas within a few days.

If you can get only a simple 2 months entrance Visa and wish to stay longer, no worries, it will take you only 2 days to acquire a new Visa in Penang, Malaysia.

The next level after OWSI is MSDT (Master Scuba Diver Training) which demonstrates that you have a larger range of courses to offer to a dive centre and shows you have successfully taught over 25 students. This course is great fun and provides you with some excellent ideas for making your specialty courses fun and enjoyable for your students.

The office staff were kind, friendly and helpful with information in both english and french. Highlights: catamaran trip to dive sites with tasty food and enough space to chill and admire the beautiful landscape * well maintained equipement * Koh Haa is a must!
