Le 4 mai 1997, le MV King Cruiser (un car-ferry de style catamaran) voyageait sur sa route normale transportant environ 560 passagers de Phuket à Koh Phi Phi, comme il le faisait depuis son entrée en service en 1989. Pour des raisons inconnues, le capitaine a dévié de sa trajectoire et est entré en collision avec l'Anemone Reef, provoquant la rupture de l'une de ses coques jumelles. Le ferry a lentement commencé à couler et s'est finalement immobilisé sur le lit de mer à moins d'un mile du récif qu'il avait initialement heurté. Avant de couler, tous les passagers ont été évacués en toute sécurité et seuls quelques blessés ont été signalés.
Wreckage perfect inhabitat
The King Cruiser now lays in an upright position at approximately 33 meters deep waters, where it can be accessed via a descent down a buoy line attached to a winch at the stern of the boat. This marks the highest point of the dive at about 16 meters. ko haa map diving As the diver descends, the ship becomes visible beneath him, and upon reaching the winch, the first thing to see are the toilets! Taking a route down the port side of the boat, divers can enjoy a wall type dive where many nudibranchs can be found. There are also numerous large openings to look in for the chance to find groupers hiding in the darkness. Moving around the bow of the boat, a sizable gap makes up the bow loading area, although penetration is not allowed due to the fast deterioration of the ship. Two winches placed on either side of the ship at about 18-20 meters are home to various shrimps hiding within the mechanisms. Ornate ghost pipefish can be seen here as well. If the diver has excellent air management skills, then he can enjoy in a second wall dive back down the starboard side. Alternatively, if shallowing up is required, then a trip down to the centre of the ship can be undertaken. At this point, the deterioration has reached such an extent that the top of the ship is nothing but a tangled mess of steel collapsing on itself. Hundreds of dark recesses have been formed there, providing a home to countless species of morays. Regardless of the fact that the main cargo area is out of bounds, there are still numerous swim-troughs that divers can enjoy, particularly towards the end of the dive where large semi-enclosed expanses are filled with huge schools of snappers. The wreck is a huge attraction to predators such as rainbow runners, trevallies, barracudas, mackerels, and tunas occasionally, and large schools of these fish can be seen hunting all around the wreck.

The DC provides the best experience ever. I've been diving with Emir for fun dives in Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. The visibility is so clear, it can go up... read more to 50m. I've seen a lot of bigger fish like Trivoli, Barracuda, etc. Not to forget, I met a whale shark in Koh Haa 1 too.

3 mars 2023 - Ccc34Hope to dive with you again, great experience - I was unable to dive due to injury but I would go to the shop everyday and was greeted, they have a nice sitting area next to the water... read more to relax. When the boat would arrive back my husband would tell me about his day. Our group went out on the boat for 3 dives a day for 5 days, (first two were 60 mins and the third was 45mins. My husbands group had both Josh and Erica as the dive guides, they both did a great job keeping the group together, they were easy to dive with, courteous, professional, and had fun. The Captain, who also came to get the group every day at the hotel was very nice, had a smile on his face and was safe regardless of driving the trucks or the boat. The boats are big and comfortable as mentioned in other reports, food and drinks were available. All and all it was a great experience and we will return again. thanks to all. In addition, I'd like to that Matt for all the pictures If made me feel like i was underwater.

, everything went on really fluent, the boat trip to the spots was enjoyable (thanks to the anti sea-sickness pills from the Diving Center), the food was delicious, the thai staff was extremely friendly, and the dives have been nice! I did the course because I am/was really afraid of deep water, the sea, swimming... I always felt like water is just not my element. With all the knowledge I got and my very calm and sophisticated teacher (thanks Raf) I managed to go down and keep breathing. From Dive to dive my fear shrunk and I could enjoy my experience. The only thing what I was missing was a long wetsuit as I started freezing at the end of every dive.

... read more One of the bests scuba diving centers in ko Lanta. They offer free transfer, and they have one of the biggest boats, which is very comfortable for long range diving trip. Also very kind and experienced Dive Masters. Moreover, there take care of everything, setting up all equipments, and then cleaning up after your dives. I will dive with them again!

20 avril 2024... read more I only had 3 days time in my vacation where I wanted to do my Open Water. All of that was connected to a lot of planning and compromising and Blue Planet and especially Max didn't call anything of it a problem and made it possible for me to dive in that small amount of time I had. The course and the people at Blue Planet is amazing. From my Pool Sessions to the last dive I have felt welcomened on the boat and part of a diving family. The diving instructors are very professional and take their job very serious. I can only recomment doing your certifications with them. Brice was the best instructor I could have asked for. He had enough patience for all my questions, called out the mistakes I made but also told me what I really did well. He loves to explain everything in detail what is very helpful. It might be more pricey here than in Koh Lanta but the courses are profesional, you are never more than four students per instructor and if you are as lucky as I was you might even have a 1 on 1 class. Definitely my best experience I had over my 4 weeks in Thailand.

Recommend to book him in advance. His schedule is tight. I'd awesome experience of Basic Diver course with Raf before. He has passion in diving and he knows how to address non-experience divers who may be nervous when jumping into the sea. He has good attitude and he's very professional, high patient and kind. Highly recommended!

25 mars 2024... read more We had an absolutely amazing dive trip to Koh Haa with the Blue Planet Divers from Koh Lanta. The dive team is very professional, well organized, with attention to every detail to ensure everyone's safety. They took time to teach the required basics, and to answer all our questions about the diving process. Our dive instructor Philip did an amazing job looking after us and adjusting the dives to match our abilities. We did three 40+ minute long dives in three different sites with stunning underwater scenery. They also have a professional underwater photographer coming along for the dives, so you can get very high quality pictures of your adventures if you're willing to pay extra. The food was great, everyone was friendly, so overall an awesome day to remember!
