When to come!

Thailand is hot all the year round but best time to visit Koh Lanta is between October and April when the weather is warm and quite dry, especially in the South West. Between the months of May to September their can be storms and heavy rainfall but it is still very hot and accommodation is usually very cheap. Our Lanta trusted spots are mostly open all year around.

All year round the weather is warm, but the best weather is between October and April when it is dry and hot. Low Season, May to September is very hot and rainfall is heavier. Average temperatures are between 27-33 degrees.

Two large islands

Koh Lanta itself, comprises of 2 islands Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai. Sea Gypsies were the original inhabitants of these islands and still live in the South of the larger island. Most tourists head for Koh Lanta Yai, the furthest west and largest of the 2, where many resorts are located along the west coast where the best beaches are located. These beaches offer beautiful sandy beaches, clear, warm waters and stunning sunsets.

Numerous villages & beaches

There are over 10 beaches on Koh Lanta Yai and each one is different, from Long Beach (Phrae Ae), a 3km stretch offer a beautiful coastline and plenty of beach bars, to Kantiang Beach, a stunning secluded beach in the south of the island.

Saladan truted spots

Situated in the far North of Koh Lanta Yai, Saladan is the main village on the island. As first place most tourists see when they arrive and main access to other lands, all other destinations are available via passenger and car ferries in the town - How to get here!.

Saladan is essentially still small but boasts a large number of excellent Thai restaurants overlooking the Sea as well as many Souvenir shops, banks, dive shops and supermarkets.

Lanta Seafood Restaurant

Opposite old Blue Planet Divers shop, Lanta Seafood has an high reputation amongst local and outsider Thais people. It is a first reference when locals come to travel to Lanta. All kind of seafood available are all freshly caught and can be cooked in many ways to your liking.

Cat Fish Café Restaurant

Very close to our new Dive house location, Cat fish is great to start your day with delicious Thai or European breakfast available. It is not only a café but also a bookshop where you can exchange or buy books in many different languages. A perfect location for a warm morning break on sea view.

Klong Dao

It is the next village to Saladan main town recognized as a long and straight road. Many lanta trusted hotels and restaurants are present both on beach and street. Some of the best restaurants are located in this area.

Loro Loco (Vegan / Vegetarian)

Best food option for veggie eaters! Pizzas, Humus and Thai specialties are all and only in vegan / vegetarian option. Menu items are fair prices for a garden ingredient institute.

Long Beach / Phra Ae

About 10 minutes South from Saladan, Phrae Ae is a small village after Long beach with many resorts and restaurants along the road and the beach. There, It is well known for having large resorts with Swedish villas villages.+

Lanta most truted. Thai Breizh - Creperie & Thai Tavern

A lovely Thai Breton family owns the place. The Restaurant with bungalow huts are very affordable and just a step away from the beach. The view is priceless and the Thai food and Breton Savouries & Sweets at their restaurant is great. Total recommendation for a stay or just an afternoon in their sitting sew view sofas. Dining is just incredible with sunsets.

Klong Kong

Much quieter and smaller than Phrae Ae, Klong Kong beach is much rockier than most of the other beaches. Therefore, plenty of friendly resorts and good restaurant.

Klong Nin

Located about halfway down the island on the west side, there are many resorts from very high quality (Rawi Warin) to very nice cheap bamboo huts. Many shops and bars as well as a very nice clean beach.

OTTO

This legend Otto is a living myth on Lanta. His beautiful place located on the beach side makes everything for relaxing and liking a nice cocktail and brunch while enjoying the sea. This place and people are the most valuable trust on Lanta.
